Permanent Hair Removal Solutions

Questions

How Does Electrolysis Work?
Electrolysis is a precise process of using electricity and or heat to target and weaken
the germinative cells at the base of the follicle which produce hairs.
Those cells are targeted and weakened until
they can no longer produce hairs, resulting in permanency.
We can treat any hair color and strength.
We can also treat any skin color, so we are able to target those with
white, gray, blonde, red, or light brown hairs that are invisible to laser light.
We also treat dark hairs on dark skin,
so regardless of hair or skin color, we have you covered.

Does Shaving Strengthen Hairs?
This is a myth that needs to be exposed as unscientific.
Shaving or cutting hair has no effect on the base of the hair where the cells are that form the hairs.
Shaving only cuts the hair, leaving a blunt edge that feels stronger, but in actuality is not.
Just stop and think about the science and you will realize it makes sense.

What About Waxing, Threading or Tweezing?
Removing hairs from the roots without targeting the base cells
is what causes strengthening, this would be via waxing, threading or tweezing.
Waxing is extremely harsh on the hairs, strengthening them over time,
and even harsher on the skin.
Waxing causes breakouts, ingrowns, premature wrinkling and aging
by stretching the skin each time the wax is pulled off the skin.
Particularly vulnerable is the skin around the eyes
where the skin is thinner and is stretched every time the eyebrows are waxed.
This results over time are heavy eyelids and more wrinkles.
We treat eyebrows all the time with no damage to skin.

 What About Lasers?
The FDA does not qualify lasers as permanent hair removal, but hair reduction.
Lasers look for a strong contrast between hair color and skin color.
White, gray, blonde, red and some brown hairs are invisible to the laser light.
Also, dark hair in dark skin is going to be a challenge
for lasers, making them less effective.
Lasers work best on dark hair in lighter skin
where the laser can effectively see the contrast.
Less common, but some people have an adverse reaction to lasers.
We have seen many clients with dark hair and light skin
whose skin reacted to the lasers and more follicles
were activated as a defense mechanism to protect the skin.
Our skin wants to protect us from the elements of uv rays, stress and traumas.
In some cases, skin will grow hair as a buffer to protect us from these elements.
Again, with Electrolysis we can treat all hair and skin colors.
Because lasers have their place and are helpful for many
seeking to have their legs, backs and larger areas treated,
AE of ME will be adding laser treatments in Fall/Winter 2023.

Electrolysis is still the Gold Standard for permanent hair removal.
We can treat all colors of hair and all skin colors.
The treatment is very precise and has been around for over a century.
Electrolysis will produce permanent results with patience and consistency.
Whatever your needs, we have the treatment to help your confidence soar!
